Day one and we spent it walking around different parts of the city getting acquainted with our surroundings. It is a bit windy and nippy, but overall nice if you keep walking.
We went to Gamla Stan for a bit. We stopped by some of the buildings and took photos. We even saw Najs there, kinda.
One of the guards at the Royal Palace in Gamla Stan.
We stopped by the church on Gamla Stan as well. Here's a statue inside depicting St. George slaying the dragon.
We also walked up Drottninggatan, the main shopping street. There was a lot of media standing on one part of the street, including the German press and someone dressed as a pink bunny. We just had to ask. The finance department was presenting the new Autumn budget and the press was there to cover it. The police were there as well, so we weren't sure what was going on at first. Nothing too crazy, it seems. Just budget numbers.
Jessi and Anja spent time taking pictures with professional cameras. They surely have some beautiful shots. If you haven't seen Jessi's blog, My Little World, take a look. You'll find a selection of pictures she has taken, along with her thoughts and reports about the trip.
We also walked past Sergels Torg in Stockholm and took a few photos from above the square.
We're now back at the hostel resting and blogging about the day's adventures so far.
